Does it feel like you blinked and suddenly the year was done? 🕰️
We sure feel that way! It all went by too quickly. Guess the saying is true, time flies while you're having fun, and we sure had a blast in 2024! Looking back on the year, we can't believe how much we managed to accomplish.
Let's take a moment to reflect on the year.
Here we go, a year in review:
Obviously, we'll skip past all the little fixes, additions, and changes. It’s true—the small things really make a huge difference, and boy, have we made a lot of small changes throughout the year. But we’re sure you’ve noticed those as you work in DataGrows. In this post, we want to celebrate 10 big steps, so here we go:
We introduced the Documents Template Table with the Client Engagement Letter.
Typically, setting up this document takes up a lot of valuable time. With this feature, you customize the document once, and DataGrows will fill in the rest for each new client.
New Front-end release.
We upgraded our technology and look so that we can continue to provide massive improvements and new feature releases in 2025. The new look is super fast, sleek, and beautiful, even if we say so ourselves. Try it out if you haven’t done so yet.
Huge upgrades to user rights and role access.
2024 ensured that you have much more freedom around what team members can or can’t access.
FICA document management.
DataGrows now enables you to set up and manage each client’s FICA Risk and Documents in a simple, quick way. There’s a dropdown in the Clients Table called FICA Risk with the following options:
No Risk
Low Risk
Medium Risk
High Risk
You can set up a list of documents you require for each risk level. Every time a client is assigned a risk level; a reminder generates with the list of documents you require and room for you to attach the documents.
All Tasks Due Detail table.
This table gives you a list of all your tasks, with the client's name, from one active dashboard! Log time and make notes right where you are. If you’re done working, you can mark the task as completed. The hotlinks will quickly take you to the relevant table where you can add more detail to the tasks.

Launch of Prospects.
Introducing Prospects—a database to keep track of leads as they move through your sales funnel.
SARS Extension.
Our eFiling extension enables you to draw your taxpayer information directly from SARS at lightning speed. You can also request and submit IRP6 returns through this extension – in real-time with immediate feedback from SARS. We even have a Tax Payable Calculator. Completing provisional tax returns has never been this easy. For more on the SARS eFiling extension, read this post.
CIPC Extension.
DataGrows connects to CIPC! You can now import real-time data from CIPC to the CIPC Annual Returns task table in DataGrows with the click of a button. This table imports the current CIPC Enterprise Status, the customer code that submitted the last annual return, and the last Annual Return Filed. This is vital when taking on new clients to determine their compliance and make quotations and time estimates accurate. For existing clients, our lightning-fast integration means that no annual return gets left behind (or accidentally archived before submitting). We have already brought in more information from CIPC when the extension runs, such as registration date and director info. So keep an eye out for Phase 2 of this feature, which will be used to keep client information up to date. Please let us know what you think of this new feature. We are keen to get your insights and incorporate them into our future plans!
We are super proud of everything we have achieved, and we know that none of it would have been possible without the help of you, our users. We want to thank each and every one of you for your contributions throughout the year. We look forward to developing many more amazing things with you in 2025.
Thank you for your ongoing support,
The DataGrows Team.
